October 15, 2007

Gosh, after a million of seconds typing our activities using the notepad, we are here again posting our fourth blog.
Well, regarding our activities about HTML, I didn't encounter such problems. Infact I worked on it easily but in the test, I found it confusing and a little bit difficult.
I discovered something new, and that was applying backgrounds and colors using unfamiliar tags. It was very fun especially to those who are first timer like me. As if I want to repeat and repeat in changing the background and colors but there are students next in line...(ui, that's a song!)
I just wish, in the coming periodical test i will not be confused in puting the right tags...
I have here something and It was attached on my email, hope they will like it.
His name was Fleming, and he was a poor Scottish farmer. One day, while trying to make a living for his family, he heard a cry for help coming from a nearby bog. He dropped his tools and ran to the bog.

There, mired to his waist in black muck, was a terrified boy, screaming and struggling to free himself. Farmer Fleming saved the lad from what could have been a slow and terrifying death.

The next day, a fancy carriage pulled up to the Scotsman's sparse surroundings An elegantly dressed nobleman stepped out and introduced himself as the father of the boy Farmer Fleming had saved.

"I want to repay you," said the nobleman. "You saved my son's life."

"No, I can't accept payment for what I did," the Scottish farmer replied waving off the offer. At that moment, the farmer's own son came to the door of the family hovel.

"Is that your son?" the nobleman asked.

"Yes," the farmer replied proudly.

"I'll make you a deal. Let me provide him with the level of education my own son will enjoy. If the lad is anything like his father, he'll no doubt grow to be a man we both will be proud of." And that he did.

Farmer Fleming's son attended the very best schools and in time, graduated from St. Mary's Hospital Medical School in London, and went on to become known throughout the world as the noted Sir Alexander Fleming, the discoverer of Penicillin.

Years afterward, the same nobleman's son who was saved from the bog was stricken with pneumonia.

What saved his life this time? Penicillin.

The name of the nobleman? Lord Randolph Churchill. His son's name?

Sir Winston Churchill.

September 18, 2007

The weeks had gone too fast and haven't noticed it much.

In the past few days, I was given a brief information about HTML. I have known that it usually starts with a start tag and end with an end tag. An HTML file contains small mark up tags. I've learned about the different tags, HTML elements and how to work on it. I have gone many experiences regarding HTML. We are required to type in the Notepad and it is my first time to use it. I have heard a lot about the notepad but i don't have much experience before, so I have encountered some problems.

One time, when i was finished saving my HTML file and tried to open it, my activity didn't appear, and that means I have forgot or missed one character, so I go over my document. As I was exploring it, still, I didn't noticed what was the missing character. I called the attention of our teacher and then she laughed at me and teased me. She ordered me to look over again and even my classmates helped me to find the error. After a million of hours waiting and exploring, Princess noticed the error, and believed it or not, the word "title" was wrong. HEHEHE.HARHAR... Well, everyone commit mistakes...

Talking about the first quarter exam, it was just fine and okay. It was not that hard, but not that easy. Majority of the class got an average score in the exam, the fact that it was time pressured. I wish next time we will get a better score. I was surprised when I got my grades, especially in this subject. I didn't expect that TLE was my highest grade. Is this the reflection of the things I've done for the first quarter???? Oh, come on.......c",)

cReate yOur bLog!!!

July 31, 2007
Creating Weblogs or so called BLOGS was our lesson for the past two weeks. Blogging, the frequent, chronological publication on the web of personal thoughts and opinions for the other Internet users to read. I've found out that blogs is a generated website where entries are made in normal style and displayed in a reverse chronological order. I've known the types of blog by media type, by device, Genre, and Legal Status Publisher. Some of the media types are VLOG, LINKBLOG, SKETCHBLOG, and PHOTOBLOG. It is also defined by which type of device used to compose it. A blog writer by a mobile device like a mobile phone or PDA(Personal digital Assistance) is called MOBLOG. In Genre, some blogs forms in a particular subject such as political blog, travel blog, etc. This is so called corporate blogs where blogs, either used eternally to enhance the communication and culture in a corporation or external for marketing branding or PR purposes. The form of a blog is very much dependent on the individual who keeps it. Most blogs are a mix of what is happening in a person's life and what they feel about the things they see on the web. Blogs give some enjoyment and entertainment to some individuals, especially to the teenagers like me. Weblogs, open published by one person or a small group of writers with a shared interest, feature brief, informal commentary, studded with hyperlinks to related materials on the web.
This blogs have different advantages to students like having access to complete notes on the Internet and students have the option of previewing the class material before class and reviewing the material after class. Students have access to online English dictionaries and can easily look up words they do not understand by cutting the unknown word and pasting it on the online dictionary. Students can read comments for the class as a whole and comments directed at them individually. This maximizes feedback and contact with the teachers and many others.
Dealing with blog is easy. Even though it is my first time, I easily get to it. I didn't encounter any problem because I followed the instructions very well.
Moving on, I will continue improving my blog so that the visitors will be attracted and will always visit my blog and leave some inspiring comments.

1. What are the new learning's/discoveries that i have learn?
As days passed by, another lesson that I discover. My knowledge about Internet was broaden. I have known the other events and parts of its history. I have learned that the Internets Universal language is called TCP/IP or Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol. I have discovered that a Network must be survive like Dr. Strangelove said. I've learned about the services and tools of the Internet, like Electronics mail or e-mail that is fast and efficient way of communication, discussion group or Newsgroup, Long Distance Computing that was an original inspiration for ARPANET and still very useful and many other services. I've learn how Web Servers and Browsers work together and how to find website. I have discovered what search terms stands for and know how to search easier and faster to derived from a better answer.
2. What are the problems/challenges that i have encountered?
In mining the Internet, I have encountered some problems like in searching. As I type the search term or as I use the different way of searching, still it's hard for me to look for the answers and it's very tiring. My fingers are very numbed, and the Internet is very broad in giving answers. I don't know what to choose first.
3. How did I address this challenges?
Even though it's very hard to cope up with the challenges, still I'm patient enough to face it.

4. Moving on, I will...

I will be more patient in learning/listening to my teacher so that next time, i will know what to do. And so that I will not be asking and asking to my classmates. I will do my very best to do my duty as a student.
